Project Overview
Here in this case study of the Heath and Fitness app, I have chosen activity tracking journey to show my entire process that I have followed to design this app.

My survey results show that Health ranks highest in terms of users' need for better expertise. Health and fitness are through this discovery.

Problem Statement
Most of the users have to use multiple apps to track their fitness activity, do workout, exercises & meal planning. People loose interest after a while as they find it very cumbersome to use different apps and keep track of it.

Goals
  • Simplify health data tracking: Provide a central location for users to manage all aspects of their well-being
  • Empower informaed decisions: offer insightful visualizations to help users understand their health data and make informaed choices.
  • Promote health behaviors: Motivate users to stay active, eat well, and inprove sleep hygiene.
  • Enhance user experience: Create an intuitive and engaging interface for effortless health management.
  • Long-term health; Empower users to take control and achieve a sustainable, healthy lifestyle

Defining Target Users
Health and Fitness targets health-conscious individuals who want to manage their well-being but struggle with scattered data. It also appleals to fitness enhusiasts seeking a comprehensive workout tracker and calorie burn monitor. By offering functionalities relevant to weight loss, sleep improvement, and potential health condition to a broad audience with diverse wellness goals. reviews2

User Research
Understanding user meeds and pain points is crucial for Health & Fitness success. Here are some research methods to consider.

Interview Questions

Based on the target user defined earlier, I recruited 5 personas and conducted interview session with them to understand their lifestyle, difficulties they go through to keep themselves fit, what are their aspirations and what motivates them to be consistent. Competitive Analysis
  • Identify key Competitors: Research popular health tracking apps like MyFitnessPal, Fitbit App and Sleep Cycle.
  • Feature Comparison: compare health & fitness planned features (Sleep tracking, calorie burn, workout management, nutrient intake) with competitor offerings.
  • User Review: Analyze user reviews of competitor apps to identify areas where health fitness app can differentiate itself through batter user experience or unique feature.

Unique Features
  • Holistic Data Tracking: While manyapps focusonspecific aspects like sleep or fitness, Health and Fitness offers a comprehensive platform for trcking sleep cycles, calories burn, workout routines, and nutrient intake. This provides a more holistic view of a users overall health and wellness.
  • Advanced Datainsights: Go behond basic data tracking. health and fitness can leverage data visualization tools to offer users insightful reports and trends, helping them understand their health pattern and identify areas for imporvement.
  • Goal Setting Gamefication: Incorporate goal setting functionalities to allow usersto define personalwellnessobjectives. Gamification elements like badges or progresstrackers can further motivate users to stay engaged and consistent with their health goals.
  • Focus on User Experience: Prioritize a clean, intuitive, and user-friendly interface. This makesdata tracking and analysis effprtless, encouraging users to consistently engage with the app and manage their health effectively.

User Personas

User Journey Map
By creating persona journey maps, I wanted to illustrate the process of how Nya, Alex, and Kate behave, feel and what they think while accomplishing their goals to detect pain points or moments of delight. reviews2

Information Architecture
To get innovative solutions into the hands of your users, I needed to concentrate on idea generation. Based on my understanding of the problem, I brainstormed the Information architecture and user flow to ensure smooth experience for the users. reviews2

High-fi Wireframe
I took my low-fidelity wireframes and converted them to high fidelity mockups, a total of 126 screens. I created all iOS, Android and Desktop designs through Adobe XD and made icons SVG format with help of illustrator. reviews2

Usability Test Results
The purpose of my usability test was to assess the learnability for new users interacting with the Health and fitness application for the first time on a mobile iOS device. I observed and measured the success rate of 6 participants completing 2 task attempts each. I documented whether the participants understood my product, the value of my three core features, and how to achieve essential functions. reviews2

Design Feedback

After my usability test and iterating my health and wellness iOS prototype, I reached out to my design slack channels for UX/UI feedback from designers and product managers who have more experience than I do in the field to provide valuable feedback.
